Envisioning Global LGBT Human Rights brings together an international, interdisciplinary research team of community partners, academics, community researchers, videographers and students. The Governance structure is composed of an Executive Committee made up by the chairs and co-chairs of five Research Teams: Africa, Canada, Caribbean, India, and Law & Human Rights Mechanisms.
Founder and project lead, Nancy Nicol, is a documentary filmmaker and Visual Arts professor at York University, Toronto. Envisioning is based in a methodology of participatory action research and participatory documentary, dedicated to documenting LGBTIQ histories and advancing societal change.
